His Highness Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, officially inaugurated DSF 2009 events in Khan Murjan at Wafi, a key sponsor of DSF 2009. The exclusive event was attended by key sponsors of DSF 2009, members of the DSF Office Organizing Committee, and members of the media, in addition to Laila Suhail, CEO of DSF Office, Ibrahim Saleh, Coordinator General of the DSF Office, and Abdulla Ibrahim Bin Hussain, Director of Local Affairs and Marketing.

Aryan Thoppu Jafer, a resident Indian in Dubai, was lucky enough to have won two Lexus models in the Lexus Mega Raffle. It seems he had a lot of luck left as he picked 100,000 dollars as the cash prize, taking his total winnings to AED 750,000.
